  1. Sprain - Bog onion boiled in water, and rubbed to sprained part. It forms an oil as thick as tar.
    Rash - "Finnamhong" or white moss off the bog. On top of old houses a roseatte like plant grow called "Cóippín". People believe that it keeps house from getting burned.
    Swelling - Dó-buidhe or yellow earth rubbed into the part that is swelled.
    Kidney Trouble - Weed with a red flower growing in old walls is good for this. It is boiled in water and taken as a drink.
    Lumps - If lumps were not coming to separation turnips and lard boiled together, into a thick paste and applied. When separation was showing, linseed meal and oil were applied to heal. Toasted bacon
