- Hiccough.There lives a man in this district named Conn Guiney. He used to get the hiccoughs very often. One day he met a man who told him to swing off the rafters for a half an hour. He did as he was told and it cured him.
- Blackcurrant Jam is a cure for a sore throat. You boil blackcurrant jam in water and drink the water. This is a good cure.
- Hiccough.If you had a hiccough, you should take nine mouthfuls of water.
- Ulcers.If you had ulcers, eat egg shells. This is supposed to cure them.
- Pansies.Pansies are to be seen in some flower gardens. They are a bluish sort of flower and some of them are yellow. Old people say that pansies are a cure for heart trouble. You get the pansies and boil them in a pot of water. You let them draw in the water like tea. When drawn it can be taken.
