1. In every parish there was a bone setter. The bone was set by him or her and encased in a plaster of dóibuidhe. Later when the cast was removed a poultice of comfory was put up to the limb. - Long ago people suffered from nervous complaints. They thought their breast bone was down, they went to a person who was able to cure it. The cure was a two shilling piece was laid on the breast and a candle lit and put on the money, a tumbler was placed over the candle, and as the candle burnt out the bone raised up to its place.
