- (continued from previous page)he died his ghost used to be seen at Lockeen at twelve o clock every night. He used to take the peoples horses and ride them about the road. The people became afraid and the priest came and put him in under the bridge and he is there to be seen yet.
From Rose Murphy
Told by her sister - One morning very early two men were going to work. As they were going down the Sopwell road they saw a small old woman sitting in the ditch with a shawl on her head and a red shirt and she was smoking a new clay pipe.
When they had gone a short distance they agreed to turn back to see if she were there in reality. When they came back she had dissappeared. They proceeded on their journey and they met another man and told him what they had seen.
He told them that it was not the first time for her to be seen.
