door and a voice said who is that so late at night. The door was opened by a woman, and Jack asked if he could have lodging for the night. The woman let him in and gave him a bed. When Jack was asleep she took Jack's pot and put an old one in its place.
Next morning when Jack got up he took his pot and went home. He told his mother about the wonderful pot, and she put it on the fire, and as she did the pot broke and hit her on the head. When Jack saw this he said he would never take anything from anybody again.
I, Mary Fox, Tower Hill, Borrisokane Co. Tipp got this from my Grandmother, Mary Gibbons, Tower Hill, Borrrisokane, Co. Tipperary.
