- This story was obtained from Richard Bourke (narrow[?] Blean Toomevara (formerly of Bleakfield Toomevara v formerly of Upperchurch Thurles aged 70 years v resident here since 1910.'The man who was changed into a bee'There was once a man in the townland of Curraheen long ago who had very soft feet. To make his feet hard, it was his custom to walk barefooted through the fields in the early morning dew.
This morning he went out as usual for a long walk. Coming to a field of Mr Donovan[?] of Gurtagarry in which is situated a fort, he looked in and saw a number of fairies hurling.
He went in and said he would hurl with them and the fairies agreed. When the game was finished the Captains lined them up in the centre of the field.(continues on next page)- Informant
