Ar an leathanach seo

  1. My home district is Cappawhite. It is situated in the barony of Coill na Manach which means the wood of the monks. The townland is Greenfields. There are twelve families in the townland. The most of the houses are slated. The townland got its name because in recent years there was a stud or farm there. It’s right name should be Gort na nGroigeadh the words Gort na nGroigeadh mean a stud. The owner of the stud was an Englishman and he gave it an English name Greenfields.
    Mr. Bagwell Purefoy was the owner of the stud. On this stud there was a lot of horses and foals reared these horses were brought across to England to run in the races that were run
