Birds lay and hatch their eggs in Spring. The colour of the eggs vary with the birds. If boys rob birds' nests they are told that a bonnlock[?] will come on their feet.
There are many legends connected with birds. There is a story told of the robin's redbreast. It is said that when Our Lord was dying on the Cross, the robin came and tried to take out the thorns from His Sacred Head. Some of his blood fell on the robin's breast and since then every robin has a redbreast.Information got from. Mr. F. Collins.- Faisnéiseoir
