    When the houses were built in Carrolls Row they were built by a person named O'Carroll. This street has taken it name from this man.
    In Church Street stands the ruins of an old Church which was built by nSaint Cronan. St. Cronan is supposed to be buried here and the street is always known as Church St.
    At the entrance to the Catholic Church there are ruins of an old abbey. It was built by the Franciscans in the 13th century. The Brigidine nuns lived in the abbey in later years. They then came to live
