    home for a few days. Then the bride and husband rode on horse-back to their future home. As they approached the house tar barrells were lighted and there was another big feast. The wedding-party used to race from the bride's home to the future home of the couple.
    Blowing-horns were made by unbottomed bottles steeped in sweet oil. They were used by the people who were not invited to the feast so as to cause annoyance to the guests. When blew they made a terrific noise as loud as fog-horns.
