    John Morrissey boxer whose beginning was very humble, was born in Mary St., Templemore in February 1831. His father Timothy was a labourer. They were in very poor circumstances but his mother Mary Morrissey never gave up and always hoped to get to America and at last she succeeded.
    The Morrisseys went to Troy, New York and Tim worked for a dollar a day. In the meantime
