- In this locality most marriages take place during Shrove and especially Shrove Tuesday. it is said that Wednesday is the luckiest day in the week to get married. The Mondays Tuesdays Fridays and Saturdays are said not to be as lucky as Wednesday. The unlucky months are May November and July.
The morning of the wedding a wedding feast is held in the house of the bride. It is not counted a wedding atall if there is not a wedding cake. It is the bride that cuts the cake and the man holds her hand. A marriage takes place in the morning. Sometimes on the night of the marriage there is a dance held and all the neighbours are invited.
