There was a certain fort in the parish of Moycarkey.

    (continued from previous page)
house said God save you kindly." Might you have the loan of a dish of meal if you please? said the woman" Why not? said the mistress, and at the same time going and filling the dish with meal. The woman thanked her and went away. In a day or two, the woman brought back a dish of meal for the dish she had got on loan, and she said "Your bin will never be empty. You will have a dish of meal any time you will go to it. But one advice I am going to give you is to keep your house clean and tidy, for the people (the people) that lived here before you did not do so. Never throw dirty water in front of your door, because all that water comes down on our heads. Another thing I will tell you is when you eat your supper, whatever you have, leave apart a small share of it on the dresser" She went away and was seen no more. The herd lived there for years after.
