- The Games we Play at Home + in School
"Dan, Dan Thread the Needle" is played in the following manner. - Two girls with joined hands stand facing each other, and think of two words such as "watch" a "chain" while the other girls who are all in a line, pass under their joined hands, and say at the same time Dan, Dan thread the needle." Dan, Dan sew," and as the last girl passes under the joined hands she is asked by both girls which she prefers a watch or a chain. According to the answer she gives she takes he proper place, and so the game continues until all the players stand in two rows. The game is now finished by a tug of war between the two rows of girls. - You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
