    custom of the old people was to light a bonfire with firs. Then the fire had burned low they made cattle jump over the sparks to prevent them from getting blasts. Then they kept one spare cipín until Easter Sunday morning. Then they made the sign of the cross on their arms.
    On May Eve the old people used always shake Easter water in every corner of the field to prevent piseogs from affecting the crops. The old people used bring in a quart of well water on May Eve also. If a person had a sore throat and drank the quart of well water he would be cured.
    There is a well in Four Mile Water and there are three fishes there. It is called the blessed well. If a person visited it at a certain time of the year and chanced to see one of the
