- About eighty years ago there was a shop in Bawndonnel. It was owned by Mr. Flynn and it was in Mr. Lyons yard. Mr. Flynn sold sweets and brushes. He used to make the sweets from butter and sugar, and he used to make the brushes from horses hair, tar, and timber. He had an ass and car and he used go around the parish selling the brushes. The shop is now a cow-house by Mr. Lyons. There is none of those Flynn's there now they are all dead.
