    The majority of people in this district burn turf...

    The majority of the people in this district burn turf. It is got in a bog, and when properly saved makes a very warm fire. Most people cut their turf in May or June, so as to have it dry before the bad weather comes. The first thing people do is to strip the banks, - this is done by taking from two to four feet of the light surface off the top, and throwing it into the previous year's lait. Then the turf is cut into cubes, which
