- Lock Street -: Long ago there lived in Carrick lock makers and they had their shops in Kickham Street hence this street is often called Lock Street.
Mill Street - : Long ago there were a great number of corn mills and weaving mills there and hence it is called Mill Street. - Kiln Lane - : This Lane is situated between the Parish Church and the Co-op. In the Lane there was a lime kiln but it is not there now. The Lane is called Kiln Lane.
- Thunderfoot Lane -: Thunderfoot Lane leads from Mill Street to the Tannery. It got its name because a battle was fought there long ago and the noise of the horses' legs going up and down during the battle was like thunder.(continues on next page)
