in through the window of a house not very far away. The dog caught the hare as it was jumping in the window and took a piece out of its thigh. The woman’s husband and another man followed on and on entering the house, they saw a woman and blood running from her leg. They returned and told the priest what they saw and he said “now you know who had your butter”
He told the woman of the house never to mention the guilty woman’s name to anybody. Whenever she saw her afterwards she used to say “there is the woman down that had my butter”. Yet she never mentioned her name
