They would keep a big piece of bacon hanging up in the chimney for seven years for a cure and anyone that would come to them for a cut of green bacon for a lump on a man's neck or a boy's neck they would come miles away for that cure. They were called lumps in the old days but now they are called an absess.

   A cure for warts is to go into a house and steal a piece of meat and rub it to the warts for six mornings and bury the meat then and according as the meat is rotting away the warths warts are fading away.
