The cloth generally used is Irish made woollen material. Cloth is not spun nor made locally, it is manufactured at the woollen mills. The nearest woollen mills is that of the Mulcahy Brothers at Ardfinnan, Cahir.
Shirtmaking is carried on in many homes the material being generally some woollen stuff or flanell.
Though socks and stockings are knitted in many homes the thread is not spun locally but it is bought in the shops.
