    High Jumper
    James Ryan, Ballyslateen, was shool master in Srough National School. He held the world's Championship high jump all his life and no one since has jumped as high.
    Six feet five and half inches is the height of the jump. He performed the feat in Tipperary sports field and he was so much cheered that the bishop asked the people to stop and let him perform
