    too cranky. Houses are more plentiful now that they were formerly. The Barracks which was belonged to the English soldiers years ago is now in ruins, and it is situated near St. Vincent's Hospital.
    People emigrated to America in the time of the Famines in '46 '47 and have continued to do so. The townland is mentioned in the song " It's a long way to Tipperary". The land is generally good. There are two woods. The first one being Captain Dawson's and the second a wood called" Black Mick's". They are both large woods but I think Captain Dawson's is
