- 1. Signs of weather in the sky. When the sky is red in the West it is a sign (it is) of fine weather. When it is red in the east it means wet weather. When the sun is red in the morning it is a sign of frost and when the sun is setting red it means fine weather. When the moon is covered with clouds it is the sign of rain. When the stars are bright it means a frost.2. The wind in certain points: The wind from the north brings snow, the wind from the East brings storm.
