    wire being attached to it by a strong cord. The snare or loop is placed resting on a "spud peg" on a favourite rabbit run. The rabbit comes along, sticks its head in the loop, the loop tightens round the neck and the poor fellow is caught.
    Hares are sometimes caught in this way. It is a cruel way, as they are game and afford much pleasure to huntsmen with dogs.
