- The match making custom is still observed in this district. The matchmakers go to the hoe of the bride and after the usual chat and conversation weather farming etc the match is proposed by the spokesman who generally takes a bottle of whiskey and with the production of the bottle generally introduces the match. Fortune etc are fixed and then they visit the town solicitor the following day and then arrangements are made with the parish priest who get 5% of the brides fortune for performing the ceremony and giving all the necessary papers.
