  1. I questioned James Daley (of Liam Dall [?] fame) Lattin, Tipperary regarding Sarsfield, and he maintains that Sarsfield did NOT pass through the village at all, as it was then an English town, but that he and his party crossed through Ballinulty (S.E. of village) and Cullen bog, and got on the road somewhere near where the quarry is situated.
See map in "Spirit of Tipperary". The course marked out indicates that he passed at the back (S.E.) of - and not through - the village.
