There is a story told about St Martin making pigs. St Martin used to give lard to the poor people, and one day he told a woman to put the lard under a tub and that something good for man would come out from under it. So she put the lard under the tub and when she looked a litter of bonhams came from under it.
When people are calling hens and chickens they say ("tuk tuk"). When people are putting down eggs for hatching they put a cross on each egg so that another egg would not lay with them.
