- Sir John Becomes Poor:
Apparently Sir John did not always occupy the position of Sheriff because towards the end of his life he was very poor. It is told of him that he was refused a 1 1/2d cut o tobacco by a man called John Murry of Ballygriffin who owned a small shop. - Sir John's End:
