had no one to mind the wood. She said she had no money to pay him to marry her, all she had was a fat pig. So the priest said he would marry her if she gave him the pig. She agreed to give him the pig, and she got married and went home. During the night her husband, Maurice, returned from Foynes. She was afraid to let him in because she thought he was dead. So he went into the pig's cabin and went into a chest. During the night the priest's boy came for the pig. When he was driving out the pig Maurice awoke and jumped out of the chest, and the boy ran for his life, leaving the pig after him. He returned to the priest and told him his story. The priest came and went hunting out the pig. Then Maurice jumped out of the chest as before, & ran away without the pig. The next day was Sunday and the people were going to mass and when they saw Maurice they were much frightened.
