    He sprang from the den to devour the three but with upright swords they caught him in the neck and killed him. The following day they killed the hungry serpent who had lived for years in Doolough lake on a trout and a half each day. Next day they slew the cat after four hours of hard fighting as the cat had a tail ten feet long with three claws on it. One of them cut off the tail with his sword and after that the cat became an easy victim to those three brave young Ulster Princes.
