   Nettles were used by some peole as a vegetable, they were used instead of cabbage in the late Spring and early Summer.

   Very nice wine is made from elder berries. Ivy leaves are used for cleaning navy blue and black clothes. The leaves are boiled and the water is strained off them. Then the garment is washed in the ivy water.

   We sow potatoes at home. Where potatoes are grown to a large extent the land is ploughed during Winter. The reason of this is to give the land the benefit of the Frost and snow. The principal manure is used also, but the former is the most beneficial. The farmer prepares his own land by ploughing in early Spring, afterwards harrowing it, and
