There are a lot of old roads in this place.
Once upon a time all the land in New Quay was belonging to a man named Bendan. He hired a lot of people to make a road. It was going through his own land. He came to another farm belonging to Darcy. Darcy sent word to Bendan to stop the road. He wrote back and told him to come and fight with revolvers next day. They started fighting and Darcy was killed and the road was finished.- Collector
