    He was not there very long when the fairy appeared sitting on a mushroom .pat stole up to where he was and caught the little man and at once told him he was not let him go until he showed him where the gold was hidden .The fairy then told Pat to put him on the ground and he would show him where the gold was .The fairy did so and then did so and then disappeared all at once.Pat began to dig at the spot where the fairy told him.When he had dug a little way he came on a large wooden box .Very much to his disappointment instead of gold he found in the box an awl, a last, a hammer and a note in which was written the words "a good trade is better than a crock of gold".Pat took the advice ,worked hard at his trade and soon
