About 1840 the Holy Mass was celebrated in the house where the Doonogan Post office is now.The Coore Church was not built then .The people attending the Mass at John Talty's farm house ,had to kneel outside in hail, rain and snow.it was not so easy then to attend Mass ,people travelled long distances on foot and then knelt outside in rain. Now we have large churches to hold huge congregations with plenty seating accomodation. The majority of the people now rides to mass on carts, traps, sidecars, bicycles and even motor-cars.- Collector
