- Long ago the people used dig their land with a spade, and the soil was cultivated better than with a plough.
Before the potatoes are sown the land is tilled and the drills opened. The wemon sow the potatoes and the men close the drills when the potatoes are sown.
When they grow up they are earthed with a plough and sprayed. When they are fit to dig out the man ploughs them out with a plough and the rest of the people pick them. Then they are put in a pit for the Winter.- Collector
