- Local fairs in olden days were far more plentiful than those days. Tullaroan had its fairs as well as Ballycallan and Freshford.
There were high prices for cattle, sheep, pigs and horses.
The fair in Freshford long ago was held every month and it is only held every year now. It was always held in the square.
People fought always after the fair and be all scratched and cut. They never came home from the fair until the next morning. They used to get drunk with the money that they got for the cattle.(continues on next page)- Informant
