    and I turned towards home.
    As we were smoking all along the way. I finished my pipe and put it in my pocket. I now thought that I might as well say my Rosary, so that I'd have no delay when I got home, but go to bed. I took out my beads, and put my hat under my arm and began to say the Rosary to myself.
    I was now within a half mile of my home. I mustn't have gone far in my prayers when a black hound came from the woods out into the road. It gave me a start, but I kept on at my prayers.
    The hound kept crossing and recrossing the road in front of me, and was getting bigger and bigger so I thought- and fire coming out of its eyes, but she never came any nearer to me. Faith: of course I
