  1. Nature has given us a lot of signs by which we can tell what sort of weather we are going to have.
    Some of the signs of rain are:- When you hear peacocks crying and the ducks quacking loudly, when you see the clouds moving quickly in the sky, and the distant hills are looking nigh, when the dogs eat grass, and when the frog turns his coat of yellow, and becomes a rust colour, and when the soot is falling down the chimney, and when you can hear far-off sounds clearly.
    When the cat sits with her back to the fire, it is the sign of a storm, and when the swallow flies low and the sea-gulls fly inland it is the sign of rain.
    When you see a blue blaze in the fire, it is the sign of a storm and when there is a ring round the moon it is also the sign
