It is therefore supposed that there was a mass rock or some structure to form a chapel somewhere in the vicinity of Mountbagnal.It is alleged that on the approach of the military on one occasion the priest had hurriedly to collect together the sacred vessels which consisted of a chalice, monstrance crucifix, ciborium and hide them in the graveyard. The inhabitants of this district say that these sacred vessels are still in their hiding place in the graveyard.
