- There is a well in Mountbagnal known as "Tobar Dómnaigh". When the railway was being made it was built over this well and on a Sunday morning the well re-appeared on the opposite side of the ditch. People in the district used to make visits to this well, One day while a number of people were paying a visit to the well when a Protestant girl came up and started laughing at them. She got into the well and immediately the water turned to blood. The girl died just where she stood.
