The mare put her head inside the door and asked for something to drink The innkeeper turned her out and would not give her a drink. She stood looking at him and said "that in the bottom of your barrels there may spring a hole for the liqour to run out. "Amen" said the foal.
They went away and soon they came to an old-smithy or blacksmith forge. The mare went in and asked a drink. The black-smith was a kind man so he made a nice bran drink and gave it to her & the foal. Then he(continues on next page)- Informant
