- If anybody had rash on their skin young nettles boiled and the juice strained and given to the person is supposed to cure him or her.
A cure for a nettle is a dockin. The dockin is rubbed on the ring and this little rhyme is said;
"Dockin, dockin in and out,
Take the sting of a nettle out,
A poultice of boiled salt is a cure for a sore throat. The way is to boil the salt and put it in a piece of cloth to form a kind of a poultice. This is put on the neck of the sufferer and is supposed to cure him or her.
Juice of a potato is supposed to be a cure for warts. Method is to cut the potato and rub it on the warts.
Another cure for warts is if you see a stone with water in a hole in it.(continues on next page)- Collector
