connected with the ancient fort. It is said that once a man was searching for the crock of gold, and while he was digging, his spade struck against something very hard. The man was just hauling up a large iron cask when he perceived himself being pulled back and the cask dropped back down into the large hole.
The man was terror-stricken and he fled. The next morning there was not a trace of the cask or of the hole in which it was found.
