Cure for sore eye. Ten gooseberry thorns. One is thrown over the shoulder, and each of the other nine is pointed at the affected part while the following words are used - for each thorn :-Dearc, Dearc, thug ó De cnuimh cnuimh cnuimh thug ó de dearc. spíonán
