the potatoe coming up from the sides of the drill.
They are also sprayed to prevent blight coming on them.
They are dug out by a potatoe digger, gathered and put in pits.
The men who work on the farm pick the potaotes.
The table potatoes are put in one heap, the seed in another, and the small ones by themselves for the pigs, and hens.
They are stored in the barn, and well covered with straw to prevent the wind from getting at them.
The names given to the various kinds of potatoes are, Kerr's Pinks, Aran Banners, British Queens and Epicures.
Kerr's Pinks and Aran Banners grow best in our district.
Potatoes were used for starch but not in our time.
We make starch from potatoes in school.
