  1. There are two Graveyards in this end of parish - Ballapousta & Smarmore. Ballapousta situated in townland of Drakestown & Kilpatrick & Smarmore in townland of Smarmore
    N.B
Kildemock Graveyard in which stands the "Jumping Church of Milloxtown" will I expect be considered by Ardee teachers.
Ballapouste Graveyard are used by Parish of Ardee & the new portion is 70 years in use. Another portion has been added some 10 yrs ago but is not yet consecrated. This graveyard is in no way round but is now shaped.
[Drawing] - Church which is a chapel of Ease stands adjoining graveyard.
Church yard is level. Few trees are growing there now.
Unbaptised persons are buried here. There is no special burial place for them that I can find out.
Local families of the richer class use special portion adjoining the church & railed in.
These families it seems did everything but say mass up till change of government in this country The families now reduced to humble circumstances still live in district.
The oldest visible inscription dates 1812. There are older graves than this but no stones are erected on same.
About one mile from Ballapousta Graveyard is the old churchyard of Smarmore.
