After a while the preceptory at Kilsaran passed into the lands of the Knight's Hospitaliers. The people around used have to pay tithes to them.
At the suppression of the monasteries in the reign of Henry 8th the revenues of the preceptory of Kilsaran passed to the crown. There is a mill pool on the lands of Mr Walsh at Kilsaran which is called "The Monk's" fish pond which is near the site of the preceptory.
