  1. The Robin
It is said that when Our Lord was dying on the cross there was one thorn which hurt him more than all the rest. The robin came and picked it out of Our Lord head and a drop of blood fell on his breast and that is why he has the red breast.
    The Magpie.
People say that if you see one magpie it is for sorrow. Two is for mirth. Three is for a wedding. Four is for a birth.
    The Cuckoo.
It is said that if you hear the cuckoo before your breakfast it is the sign of good weather.
If she comes late to this county it is the sign of bad weather and if she comes early the weather will be fine.
If you hear the cuckoo with your left ear it is the sign that your going to have a unlucky year.
