- The Riabhach days are the last three days of March or the first three days of April. There was a speckled cow and a cold rough March caught her in the fields. She was very tired coming home. When March passed and when the first of April came she thought she was safe. She said " Now bad March you could not kill me. March never said a word but borrowed three days from April and had a terrible storm. The cow was drowned. Great care was taken of the cows on the Riabhach days for fear of any harm from floods etc.
